Do I need Experience?

No previous experience necessary. Our classes are geared for all levels of experience. Our Fundamental Classes program is specifically for beginners to teach basic and fundamental techniques to help build a strong foundation to your Jiu-Jitsu.

I’m a beginner. Which class should I attend?

As a beginner, you can attend any of our classes! We welcome all newcomers and help them build their basics and fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu in a friendly and safe environment . We also have specific Fundamental Classes that help beginners build their basic techniques and fundamental understanding of Jiu Jitsu. Check our class schedule to see all of our weekly classes.

Am I too old to start Jiu Jitsu?

You’re never too old! One of our black belts in Fullerton didn’t start training Jiu-Jitsu until he was in his 40s! He is now a 2nd degree black belt and still going strong in his 50s! Kids Class FAQs

What is the youngest age kids can train Jiu Jitsu at Ethos?

We accept kids starting at 5 years of age. We have different classes for kids depending on their age: our Pee Wee class is specifically for kids 5 to 7 years old and there’s a kids class for students 8-13 years old.

Is Jiu-Jitsu a good martial art for kids?

Yes! Jiu Jitsu is a great martial art that produces confident, hardworking, humble, disciplined individuals. It teaches perseverance, dedication, and excellent self defense skills.

Does my child need to be athletic to train Jiu-Jitsu?

No! Jiu Jitsu, above all, is about timing and proper technique. As with any sport, athleticism helps, but dedication and perseverance are far more important in their Jiu Jitsu journey.
