Founder/Instructor
Jerardo Linares is a second degree Black Belt, one of the Founders of Ethos Jiu-Jitsu, and has been training Jiu-Jitsu for over 20 years. He first got introduced to Jiu-Jitsu while attending San Diego State University, and joined the local college Jiu-Jitsu club while studying Business Finance. Before starting Jiu-Jitsu, he played soccer for many years, and still enjoys kicking the ball around.
Jerardo is passionate about coaching his students to be better human beings through Jiu-Jitsu, and is an active competitor. When not teaching he works as a Real Estate Broker for Millenia Real Estate, a local Real Estate Company he founded. When not working he enjoys spending time with his Wife Kimberly and two dogs Dexter and Rio. They enjoy riding bikes along the LA River, camping and hiking.
Founder/Instructor
Brett Bannon, Brett is a Black Belt under Professor's John Ouano and Perry Hauck since 2019 and is one of the Owners and Founders of Ethos Jiu Jitsu South Bay. He also is the owner and Founder of South Bay Fitness Focus. Brett graduated from San Diego State University, majoring in Finance. He was born and raised in Torrance, California and went to South High. He started training jiu jitsu in 2005 and has trained at different academies in San Diego and Los Angeles over his numerous years in the sport, and still trains regularly, as well as competes in Jiu Jitsu tournaments.
He enjoys teaching others the fundamentals and techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. His instructors instilled a sense of living life through ideals learned in martial arts, and Brett has continued that passion among his students.
Brett lives in Torrance with his wife Michele and baby daughter.
